Overview - The Resumption
After whinging about the possibility of being put up two grades from 'B', Peter ensured we were at least contenders to go
up one grade (As Kymmy!!! would describe, The Black Vegetables place in the sun, although not quite the players as the golden
era for the black vegetables). Peter bowled both batsman in the final over to deliver victory. The team before this over was
looking down and out with Kymmy!! and GMC requiring urgent medical attention (GMC had a broken thumb, Kymmy!!, well he just needs urgent
medical attention). The final score was 111 to 100 which was even better given we had the worst referee in the centre for our team.
Game Analysis
Glynne Fiveash
Glynne top scored for the team with a magnificent 20. Only game the opposition one chance (which unfortunately they took) and
despite almost killing the Avatar with an uncontrolled shot he figured in the highest partnership. Glynne refused to use the
rotating field system despite advice from Lulu and it nearly wrought disaster for the team. Glynne's bowling was deliberatly
erratic with an unusual exibition of short pitched deliveries which succeeded in annoying the star opposition batsman.
Avatar
Gave the opposition a chance to get him out but luckily the fielder dropped the ball which enabled him to get 18 runs. Was
inflicted with mortal wound by a mistimed Glynne shot but managed to recover to complete the inning. Bowled well and was unlucky
not to get a run out when Kymmy!!! brillantly hit the stumps with a long throw.
GMC Anthony
Anthony again proved unstoppable as he compiled 19 runs although no 7's this week. Even though he was medically unfit to continue
after the first over fielding, Anthony bowled well and was instrumental in getting the final wicket to deliver victory.
Donna Fiveash
Back in the team with neither Select Samsonite nor Darth Morg to worry about Donna was invovled in an explosive partnership
with Anthony of 37 of which she got 18. Donna also scored 9 runs of a single ball. Donna had a handy bowling spell
including an over to the final batting pair which saw only 5 runs scored.
Kymmy!!!!
Shoaib Van Der Welle was a nightmare for the opposition batsman as he carved them up in his first over and then literly tripped
over himself in his desire to ball to them again. His second over yielded no wickets but numerous chances. Kymmy!! started off
very stylishly with the bat was recognised by an appreciative crowd. He fell away in the second part of his innings to get a
relatively low score.
Big "If Ya Smell What I Am Cookin" Gav
Big Gav played a restrained game tonight for 3/4 of his innings as he hit the the side nets and protected his wicket. The reward was 17
runs and no outs. He did start to lose it in the final over when the real Big Gav returned but luckily did not get caught. Followed on
from Glynnes lead in aggravating the oppositions star batsman and took away his wicket.
Micheal
Despite Big Gav running him out Michael toiled away out in the middle still trying to come to grips with this new style of
controlled batting. Fielded like a superstar with some near misses as he throw balls at the stumps as a batsman would belt
Kymmys!!! bowling.
Peter
Peter won the game, nothing more can really be said as he bowled the opposition batsman to bring us to victory. His last over
was 3 for -8. His batting was not so good as he seems to have caught Big Gav's old "Must hit the back net every ball" attitude.
