Overview - The Resumption

MAD MANIAC MCGREGOR had returned to the Black Vegetables. One of the greatest players even to have worn the famed black jersey. Tears were in Kymmys!!!! eyes as the Mad One strode onto the pitch, Kymmy!!! remembered the golden years of premiership after premiership. While the Mad One did not possess some of Hross's unique qualities he did have unlimited enthusiasm. Unfortunately for the team, Big Gavstheman Ul Haq was late and this destabilised the team, leading to a draw.  Of course the influence of an umpire who selectively had trouble keeping his eyes open limited our opportunities.  I could ramble on for a while here but I think I did enough of that at the game.

Game Analysis

Glynne

Glynne was clearly distressed at not being able to smell what Big Gav was cookin and made the insane choice of putting Kymmy!!! in charge of  the top stumps.  Last time Kymmy!! had this opportunity he only found the top stumps in the final two overs, and tonight was no different.  Glynne batted to within an inch of being the highest scorer and bowled with fire.  Had trouble in the difficult fielding position which Darren had left vacant.  I dont know why Glynne did not take the stumps but perhaps he is still suffering from the mortal injury which kept him out of last weeks clash.

Bowled the best for quite a while, even bowling a batsman, which has been unheard of for him.  Took a legitimate query about the ball not hitting the back net to the umpire and was punished for it when he batted.  The umpire (who was clearly asleep) was woken up by the noise of the ball hitting the Avatars knee.  He gave him out despite the opposition rescinding the appeal.  I sincerely hopes he applies for a job in my section where he will be dealt with equal fairness.

Kymmy!!

Kymmy spent a lot of the game pacing, pacing forward, pacing backward, pacing across the stumps.  Kymmy!! was the top scorer with the bat and the team finally found out what makes him tick as after being hit in the head (again our buddy the umpire decided that this was not a no ball) blasted into action.  Gone was the style, this was just sheer gut bucket grunt as Kymmy smashed 24.  Kymmy's bowling was back to its pedestrian best where he unusually failed to snare a wicket with the "Kimsra".  I think Kymmy!!! takes the stumps at the back he refuses to leave the back net until the ball has passed over the stumps.  I think this is some form of modified Dutch rules from Kymmys!!!! homeland.

Mad Maniac McGregor

One of the Golden Immortals from the Black Vegetables team of old (yes we have all heard Kymmy crap on about the great days of yesteryear).  As a wicket keeper their has been none finer since Hross hung up the gloves.  Hross taught the Mad One everything he knows and it certainly showed.  That cheeky athlectism combined with lightning reflexes, MMC dominated the field and inspired all to perform better.  His bowling was very fast as he built up to his former speed.  Batting was less than impressive in scoreline, but Kymmy!! only let him face 8 balls in his innings.

Donna FiveA

As per last week "You guessed it! Select & Darth were present and Donna's concentration was elsewhere. Glynne seemed powerless to shield Donna from their influence and she struggled with form". Did bowl well with total figures of 1 for 9 which put many of the others to shame.  Eventually she noticed Darth and Select while batting and lost her train of thought.  For once however the Avatar drowned out Glynnes criticism with his shouts of encouragement for the umpiring#$#@$.

Dan FiveA

Dan along with Donna struggled with the bat he he forgot to guard his stumps.  I think he may have been influenced by Glynne talking about the bat before wicket ruling.  At least he did not have to put up with Kymmys!! inane field placements this week and responded accordingly with great bowling and good field work.  Seemed to combine well with the Mad One.

Big "If Ya Smell What I Am Cookin" Gav

Gavstheman Ul Haq again produced, in general a controlled innings.  Flashes of Limbobo showed at a few moments but luckily refused to come out form the alley.  Afterwards Big Gav denied any big shot attempts but it was a bit like Glynne protesting that his cross bat shot WAS defensive.  At bowling Big Gav bowled one of the batsman and put pressure on their better batting pairs.  Failed to get to the match on time and may face censure from the Lulu.

Michaelmon

The digimon ambassador played a disciplined innings with only one chance, unfortunately the opposition took it.  Remained calm and along with Big Gav delivered a draw.  Another fantastic fielding effort, he almost glides across the pitch running batsman out at will.  Bowling is starting to go off and will need to not only organise net practice but actually turn up.
