The Trip to Haranshire

A Patron is Found <===================

Kokor set a blistering pace on the first day out as the party crossed the fertile plains around Tathrond. The road was good here and had regular guard patrols. No bandits dared raid this close to Tathrond. The party spent that night out on the road where the frequent patrols made it a restful night. Of course the party could have stayed in an Inn but Viole would not hear of wasting money.

On the 322nd day of the year 1001 the party reached Tigril which was a large city around 2000 people which controlled the merchant routes to the north east of Tathrond. The city was tightly ruled by an mayor appointed by Ergal and backed up by a detachment or elite troops from Tathrond. Kirth used all his charm to persuade the gate keeper to let the party in without paying dues on the chest. Most of the rest of the party realised that Kirth's stutter was so annoying the gate keeper wanted to be rid of them and waved them on. The party stayed in a local inn which also had a dwarven regiment frequenting it. Lens got on quite well with the dwarves and found out that they where going to be travelling north at the town of Geld to take part in a campaign against the orcs.

The next day the party set out for Moth with the trip being uneventful as there were a number of soldiers from Tathrond converging upon Geld via this road for the campaign against the orcs in the north. The party stayed in Moth for the night.

Rathde was the next target as the party headed out from Moth the next day. This town was small and really just a waystation for travellers. As with the previous day the roads were quite devoid of vagabonds. The party were overtaken by the dwarven regiment that they had met in Tigril.

Upon arrival in Geld the next day the party could see hundreds of troops camping around the town. Viole commented that the party should avoid antagonising any of the soldiers. Of course Kirth took this as a challenge and decided to deliberately engage in conversation with some soldiers. These tired men had no time for a stuttering fool but quick work from Lens and Attel settled things down. In the tavern that night the party heard many accounts of the orcs raids to the north. There did seem to be an air of belief that the soldiers would defeat the orcs and stop the raids.

The next day the party headed out for Hortim, a journey which would take 2 days. After the first days travel, a clearing was found off the road and the party organised watches for the night. Kokor believed he could watch the whole night through but no one else believed him. On Howards watch the sound of metal against metal could be heard nearby. Howard woke the others up and not a second too late as 7 Kobolds stormed into the camp. The party managed to overpower them and found little of any value on their bodies. The next day Hortim was reached. This town had only about 200 people in it. The party stayed in the tavern and posted watches as they had heard skilled pick pockets lived in this town.

The next day marks the start of a 3 day venture onto Haranshire where Thurmaster was located. The first days travel was uninteresting as was the second until again on Howards watch 4 bandits attacked. Kokor was meant to be on watch and had fallen asleep but luckily Howard had stayed awake. These bandits were difficult to defeat but the party prevailed in the end. The bandits had some silver and gold coins but most valuable of all were a magical longsword and mace. The next day the party marched on into Haranshire and an adventure that would take them into the depths of the world.
