When Mikita was but 42 and close to being a young adult, a party of Zhentarim from Zhentil Keep captured the wandering Mikita on a raiding trip into the forest. Taken back to Zhentil Keep Mikita soon found out the reason why he had not been killed.
The evil priests of Bane wanted young elves to experiment on, and discover the genetic differences between the various strains of elves. Magical and Evil tests carried out over the next 15 years transformed Mikita into a hated Dark Elf or Drow. Mikita had appeared to pick up all the inherent racial characteristics as well as losing all his High Elven racial characteristics. Ever since Mikita has held an mighty hatred for those that seek to alter his appearance. Mikita is also very uneasy in forests due to being taken prisoner in what he thought was a safe forest. Mikita was sold as a slave to a visiting band of Drow who took Mikita underground to the fabled city of Menzoberranzan.
Mikita was to be part of the House of Fey-Branche which was a minor house in the overall hierarchy of houses in Menzoberranzan. The next 20 years of Mikita's life involved Mikita's rise from slave to soldier. Mikita learnt to fight with 2 weapons without penalty and also picked up useful skills in jumping and other acrobatic skills. Mikita became adept at disguise, ventriloquism and the skills of a thief to aid his adopted house. However, being so young Mikita's skills were rarely used outside of practice and Mikita's outlook on life often put him at odds with his fellow Drow.
At age 77 Mikita was chosen to go on a raiding party to the surface, but this proved ill-fated and the raiders were defeated in an ambush by High Elves from Cormanthor forest. Mikita critically wounded was left for dead under some bushes were he had rolled. An old man from a nearby village found Mikita in the bushes and took him home. Mikita took 5 long years to recover but during this time a bond grew up between Mikita and the old man who took Mikita as his own son. Mikita soon discovered the gospel of Mielikki again. All visits outside the house where made in a heavy cloak as sunlight was dangerous for Mikita. The rest of the village soon accepted Mikita as the goodness of his heart shone through. For the next 37 years Mikita's life was relatively stable but when the old man died Mikita decided it was time to leave and took an opportunity with some of his friends to travel to New Phlan Town.
Mikita has a few nasty scars from being wounded when the drow raiding party was ambushed. Mikita always wears his cloak and hood, he has tried to act like a wizard and always keep his head in the shadows. However, because the village accepted him he does not fully understand why people might quiz him on his looks. This can be taken as an affront as Mikita doesn't like the experiments that were carried out on him, but he has battled on. Attempts to modify his physical being are met with extreme defence due to his history. Mikita dreams one day of being a High Elf again and wrecking vengeance on Zhentil keep.
