I'm Ben Hutchings from Canberra, Australia. I've been self publishing these comics now for thirteen years, which have inspired and delighted both Aussies and nasty foreigners alike!
Now with this webpage I can expose all my kick-ass comix to even more foreign scum and hopefully inspire them to grow and evolve culturally and sensually.
There is a lot to see here so start with the stuff on the left, then the crap underneath!

23 Jan 2008 Lesson Master is taking a couple of weeks off as I catch up on Picture work.
I missed my first Tales From the Pub deadline yesterday and they had to do reprint an old episode!
I hope nobody notices. Actually I hope loads of people notice, and complain like the last time we didn't include an episode.
I also have to get a new reprint of the You Stink collected book, and get prints made of my new Pumpkin Bros pages.
Not to mention compiling and printing the just-about-finished Lesson Master anthology!
So I figure since nobody reads Lesson Master, let alone pays me for it, I should leave it for a bit.

19 Nov 2007: Wanna see where I do all my work? Click here for a Quicktime VR panorama of my flat! Click and drag in the window to look around. Note the ostentatious drawing table and the cupboards with boxes of unsold comics lurking inside.

18 Oct 2007: Supanova was a bit disappointing sales-wise! It seems to attract less comic readers every year! I hear Armageddon wasn't much better in the small press stakes. Either way, I had a great time catching up with comic pals. Happy for me?

-
5.2.2007: I was a winner of The Facial Expressions Competition!
Artists were invited to draw their 'interpretations' of a selection of photos of teenagers' facial expressions. My entry (which you can see here),
was one of many which were selected to be included in the upcoming book which is a resource for artists.
Also, I moved house. Interesting eh? I am in Red Hill with no internet or milk.

7.1.07: I added the Canberra Times article to the What Others Say section. I have also added a new pixel painting in the sketches bit.

16.12.2006: RED HOT NEWS! Today's Canberra Times has an article on Geeen Comix!
Apparently I have more than a passing resemblance to Comic Shop Guy from the Simpsons.

Supanova was a fun weekend. It was held out at Olympic Park in Sydney. It was a bit of a remote location, but good because it was right near a bar which was at the foot of our hotel.
So we pretty much just spent the whole two days there without having to travel at all. Comic of Smallness sold like hotcakes which was nice, but again the comic crowd was quite thin. Anyway, the weekend was great. David Blumenstein, the Phatsville boys and my chum Simon had a great time. You can see a few photos here.

Louise Graber paid me a visit down in Canberra the other day, and presented to me this awesome gift! A Dr Phwooooar lunchbox! What she's done is grab a Superman lunchbox and gone 'n' painted over the top of it. Here's the underside!. The sides are linked with little roads, and you even get to see the ambulance he drives in from You Stink #2. Here is a pic of the sides of the lunchbox, all unwrapped with digital magic. Pretty much the coolest gift ever, eh?
I turned 31 on the 12th of October. And three of my other pals turned 30 within a few days of it! Whats with all the February sex?

New comic out! Comics of Smallness is very small comic, measuring a small 40 mm x 47 mm which I drew while at Doujicon. The comic follows the idiotic adventures of Barry Cat.
Shoot me an email if you'd like one! It will cost you a dollar, plus postage it will.
-
You Stink and I Don't #9 is in the works and I have done about twenty pages. There is to be a lot of content, and should run to around fifty pages unless I get impatient and print it early!
What about Dragon Hurtor #5? I haven't worked on that in months, and it is still sitting there with about fifty pages pencilled in.

Don't forget to check out the Bomberman clone I am doin graphics for which is named....Bombahman! The game's website is here.
