Basic Information on the Oz pages |
About OzJust some background stuff regarding these pages, nothing too earth shattering. Oz was created to fill not one but two voids. The first was the lack of a broad, general set of pages about the major aspects of Australia. The second was a four month Christmas holiday break with little to do. Oz is not intended to be the be all and end all of pages regarding Australia, but rather a start point for those interested in an aspect of the wide brown land. Oz was launched on Monday the 26th of January, 1998, i.e. Australia Day. While navigating Oz, you can either go from the Main Menu to a page and then back to the Main Menu (click on a page's logo, i.e. the 'i' above, or the home logo at the bottom of a page, to return to the Main Menu), or use the Next and Previous links at the bottom of each page to bypass the Main Menu all together. Some pages will also have additional links to external pages. These will open in a new browser window. Note also that there is a link at the bottom of each page to a text version of the page. These will print / copy and paste better than the HTML pages. If the text you're reading looks a tad boring, you could download the Oz font, unzip it and stick it in your \Windoze\Fonts directory. If you already have this font and still think it looks boring, you're going to have to go and get a drink or two of something alcoholic, come back and try again.
Other compuparts you might find beneficial for the browsing of this page is some extra RAM, a sound card and a good set of speakers so you can run Winamp and listen to some MP3's in the background. A bigger monitor wouldn't hurt either, and CD drives make good drink holders..... |
