PRE FEDERATION "SHELLEY" AUSTRALIAN COAT OF ARMS PLATE

Beautiful " Shelley " white porcelain plate featuring the pre Federation Australian Coat of Arms.Though unmarked these plates have been confidently attributed to Shelley.I also have a matching saucer or small plate available .The arms depicted are pre 1908 when the first official Coat of Arms granted to the Commonwealth of Australia was made by King Edward VII in a Royal Warrant of 7 May 1908.More information can be seen on this Australian government site :-

Note that the Kangaroo & Emu are on different sides to the official arms. and that the kangaroo is based on an earlier drawing.I have been told that these pieces were issued to celebrate the centenary of Australia in 1888.Impressed mark" REG NO 6559 " Condition is good with no chips cracks or repairs, the guilt edges are warn.
