Fabulous Bretby Candle Holder It's form of simple, yet bold architectonic shape could be from any era Ancient through Arts and Crafts to Art Moderne or Deco.Based on the Triangle It has a Triangular
cone supported on it's three sides by a triangular buttress, which is pierced with a central circular hole. All this upon a triangular stepped base.
The glaze is predominately Matt of dribbled and yellows and terracotta colours over sponged blues, of varying intensity from bright and deep Cobalt to water coulor tones..
Condition is perfect no chips; cracks or repairs.
Marks Impressed :- " BRETBY " and Rising Sun motif.: "MADE IN ENGLAND" ; 3278. Painter's Mark painted " X ".
Size :- 5" Sides 2¾" High.
