Beautiful 1832 Brazilian 40 Reis countermarked copper coin.Great condition (see photographs).
In order to prevent chaiotic conditions resulting from local and private countermarkingthe government passed law #54 of 6th October 1835 ordering all copper coins to be counter marked.
This coin is a 40 Reis mark on an 80 Reis coin. Great for any coin collection. |
