RARE SYDNEY HARBOUR BRIDGE AUSTRALIAN POTTERY VASE |

Absolutely beautiful and very rare Australian pottery Sydney Harbour Bridge flower vase . Made circa 1932 to commemorate the opening of the bridge it has "1932" molded on the pylon ends.The maker of this vase is unknown , I have seen reference to suggest Fowler , though, Mashman or Bakewells are a possability. ( I favour the Mashman connection).The vase is molded in the shape of the bridge and has a thick deep blue glaze.Note my phototgraphy does not do this stunner justice.
Condition :- Perfect Size :- 10" long. Reference :- Australian Pottery of the 19th & early 29th Century. by Marjorie Graham ,plate 128 page 136. A must for the serious Australian Ceramics collector, Australiana or Harbour Bridge buffs.. |
