FABULOUS BRITISH ART DECO PALISSEY TEAPOT

Beautiful 1930's hand painted Art Deco Palissey Teapot Cream / Milk Jug and Sugar Bowl.Made by Albert E Jones Ltd, Palissey Potteries Longton Staffordshire, England, ( now part of Royal Worcester.The pure Art deco shape is similar to Shelley's "Mode & Eve " and Clarice Cliff's " Conical" shaped tea ware, with conical shaped bodies & bold triangular handles and finial to the pot.The hand painted deco design of black trunked tree with masses of bright green foliage reminiscent of Clarice Cliff designs, highlighted with fine green bands and delicate gilding. Note my photography does not do justice to this grand set!
Condition is great the only blemish is a minute flake to the inside of the teapot opening which is not visable when the lid is on and only mentioned for accuracy. Size :- * Teapot : 6" High X 9" Wide X 6"Diameter. * Jug : 3¼" High X 3½" Dia. * Bowl : 2¾" High X 4½" Dia Max. A stunning set to display, will enrich any deco or British ceramics collection. |
