EXTREMELY RARE ROYAL DOULTON - VELLUMA
******** DOULTON VELLUMA ****** **	Fantastic extremely rare Royal Doulton Velluma Ware Matchbox Holder.Condition is great , what appears as all over crazing is evidently intentional.With a hand coloured printed landscape scene. Note that my photographs do not do this truely lovely object justice. The Antique British Ceramics Information Resource states :- " Velluma :- Another very rare glaze. "Velluma" was introduced in 1911 to imitate parchment paper It was usually used in conjunction with landscape transfer prints applied, and sometimes hand coloured, at Lambeth to stoneware pieces usually made at Burslem.
