Hi there, my name is Maureen Thomas and I would like to welcome you to my very first web site. We were the first in Australia to offer a web site dedicated to Cairn Terriers. My aim is not only to promote the breed, but to also have some fun and make new contacts from around the world. Kelcliffe Kennels was established in 1967, so you can see that I have been in the "dog world" for quite a long time. Over the years I have bred and shown both Basset Hounds and Cairn Terriers. My first Cairn was Craigend Caroline, born January 1986. Whether by good luck or good judgement, I have had more than my fair share of successes in the showring. On this web site I will endeavour to tell you the origin of the Cairn, the breed standard, and the code of conduct that all breeders should adhere to. I intend to update this web site as necessary, so if you have any information that you think I should include or you just need more information than you can find here, please email me at thomas@effect.net.au (don't be shy, I'd love to hear from you). If after reading these pages you think a Cairn would be great addition to your family, contact a reliable breeder as soon as possible. There is quite a waiting list for these little fellows as their popularity is growing in leaps and bounds. Kelcliffe Kennels is licenced with the Australian Capital Territory Government, and registered as a licenced breeder with the Australian Capital Territory Canine Association and the Royal New South Wales Canine Council.
